October is National Chiropractic Health Month

October is National Chiropractic Health Month. Why?  To raise the awareness of the role chiropractic can play in your healthy lifestyle.
Yes, most of us know that chiropractic care, including spinal manipulation and soft tissue techniques, can be very helpful with musculoskeletal injuries such as lower back pain, neck pain, muscle tension headache, ankle sprains, shoulder pain, and just about any body part where there is a joint and muscle. However, did you know that many people have experienced improvement of respiratory and digestive complaints when they undergoe chiropractic care?  Spinal manipulation can have an effect on your autonomic nervous system, which can control the blood supply to the various organs in your body, and thereby help optimize the function of that organ. This effect on the autonomic nervous system's control of small blood vessels may be one way in which chiropractic can help with migraine headaches, or even the effects of anxiety, which may cause chest pain ( for which cardiac issues must be ruled out first).
We can also help you be more healthy by offering counsel regarding exercise and nutrition. Chiropractic is not just for the spine (although it is very effective for spinal conditions like back and neck pain). Try chiropractic for the health of it.
